AO's Sweet Tiramisu Giveaway

Tiramisu has become a dessert of choice for angels all around the world. While there are many versions of the origin of this delicious dish, one managed to withstandd the test of time for its heartwrenching and poetic flavours.

The story dates all the way back to World War I when many young, courageous men in Italy were recruited and sent to the warfront. Their love ones wanted to send them off with a snack that will give them a lasting impression before they go. However, in those testing times, households were poor and there were not many ingredients available. Undeterred by this, the ladies managed to scrape whatever they can find, like bread, biscuits and chocolate, and conjured them into a delectable dessert. The bitter-sweet taste of this dish is an accurate testimony to the mixture of emotions the ladies felt back then. In giving this snack away, the love ones are telling the men to "take them away", which is what Tiramisu means in Italian.

In similar fashion, we have scraped together various items into special gifts to send our angels off to their adventures.
